Service anniversaries and farewells could no longer be officially celebrated in the city administration for a year due to the coronavirus protection regulations. Lord Mayor Dr. Heike Kaster-Meurer and Staff Council Chairwoman Annette Köllmeier therefore had some catching up to do. Dieter Häusler had two reasons to celebrate. After his serious illness with cancer, the longest-serving civil servant in the city administration is feeling better again, so the 64-year-old was able to receive his certificate of thanks, signed by Minister President Malu Dreyer, for "50 years of public service" at a ceremony. Dieter Häusler wants to return to his job at the youth welfare office before he retires. This depends on further investigations. "We are all keeping our fingers crossed for you," said Lord Mayor Dr. Heike Kaster-Meurer.
