"I have been so lucky in my life," said Walter Grein in conversations with many young people whom he told about the crimes of the National Socialists. Together with pupil Johannes Miedema, he spoke at the event organized by the town of Bad Kreuznach on 9 November 2016 to commemorate the victims of the Reichspogromnacht. Dr. Walter Grein has now passed away at the age of 100. "Once again, an important contemporary witness of brown terror can no longer raise his voice. Walter Grein made a great contribution to education and commitment against racism," said Lord Mayor Dr. Heike Kaster-Meurer, paying tribute to his achievements.
