In the Bad Kreuznach municipal forest, but also in the city area, many oak trees are infested with the caterpillars of the oak processionary moth every summer. The city administration and city forestry therefore advise caution when spending time in the forest and green spaces. "Unfortunately, we have noticed that there are once again significant numbers of oak processionary moths in many places this year. We have put up warning signs for forest visitors in particularly affected areas," says forester Nico Plöger, head of the Nahe forest district.
