Every year at the start of Shrove Tuesday on November 11, the jesters seize the keys to the town hall from the hands of the (Lord) Mayor. In Bad Kreuznach, the key remained in the hands of the jesters for longer than usual this time. The carnival revellers marched to the town hall today to hand it back to the town council.
