The Hermannsbrücke bridge over the Gräfenbach at the "Lohrer Mühle" is an important connection for cyclists and pedestrians to and from the city. However, it is in a very poor structural condition. In the inspection of the city's bridges between 2017 and 2019, it scored 3.8 - an unsatisfactory structural condition that made immediate replacement necessary. The Hermannsbrücke will therefore be replaced by a new bridge this spring as planned. At the ground-breaking ceremony on Monday, Lord Mayor Dr. Heike Kaster-Meurer and Philipp Geib, Head of the Civil Engineering and Green Spaces Department of the City Planning Office, presented the upcoming work.
