The United Nations Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, which comes into force today, outlaws and bans nuclear weapons under international law. As a sign of support for this event, the green and white flag of the "Mayors for Peace" organization, of which the city has been a member since 2019, is flying at Europaplatz in Bad Kreuznach today. Lord Mayor Dr. Heike Kaster-Meurer raised the flag with Anneliese Wolf from the "Active for Peace Bad Kreuznach" group.
