The state of Rhineland-Palatinate is committed to the electrification of rail links in the region (press release from the Ministry of Transport dated June 17). Mayor Dr. Heike Kaster-Meurer is delighted about this: "The electrification of the Bad Kreuznach - Bingen section is a step in the right direction." This means that the route, which is important for the city - the section between Bingen and Mainz has long been electrified - is now environmentally and passenger-friendly.
