During their demonstration for the municipalization of public transport, the participants stopped in front of the Stadthaus. Mayor Dr. Heike Kaster-Meurer, who was out of town due to an appointment, was represented by Jürgen Cron, Head of Municipal and Central Services, who accepted the demand from Thomas Rockel, Chairman of the Works Council of Stadtbus GmbH. In order to secure jobs, the city should become a municipal sponsor of public transport. This issue is currently politically controversial. The Lord Mayor has a great deal of understanding for this concern and will advocate the municipalization of public transport in the political decision-making process in the City Council.
