The record heat, drought and pest infestations of the past two extreme summers have taken their toll on the local forests. From 18.10.2022, dried out and diseased trees will have to be felled in the Kreuznach city forest and along some roads in the city area. A lack of stability and the threat of branches and crowns breaking pose an increasing danger to residents, road users and visitors to the forest. The measures are expected to last until the end of October.
